This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a rapidly growing and successful independent fostering agency that predominantly covers the South of England. Turnover £3.2m with profit before tax and directors remuneration of £620,000.
The agency was incorporated in early 2002 and registered with the Commission for Social Inspectorate. In 2004 it was credited with Investors in People and received a commendation after its review in 2007.
The agency offers a range of placements to Local Authorities including long term, short term, bridging, parent and child etc. There is currently a customer base of more than 30 Local Authorities throughout London and the Home Counties. The top two have an annual spend in excess of £500k. The agency have been successful in tendering for a number of Authorities ‘Preferred Provider List’. Referrals are received on a daily basis by email, telephone and fax from Local Authorities throughout England and Wales.
The agency has recently constructed a family room to facilitate contact arrangements between looked after children and their relatives. They are currently in the process of registering the facility with the National Association of Child Contact Centres.
The agency is operated from approximately 3,000 sq. ft. of offices which are strategically located for ease of access and service provision. The offices also benefit from having a fully equipped training suite. There is parking for 15 vehicles. The premises are held under a 10 year lease expiring in 2018 with a break clause in 2013. The current rent is £28,500 per annum with a rates circa £9,000 per annum.
Considerable investment has been made in refurbishing the offices, development of IT, database and website.
In addition to the two active vendors there are 16 staff.
